Weddings & Representing who you are

So as most of you know I assisted in my first wedding last weekend thanks to Jenny from Moondance Photography!  She was so fun and easy to work with and I can't wait to work with her again.  This wedding has really changed my life in so many ways. I feel that I have pretty much defined my style to who I am and feel blessed to have discovered that so early in game but I discovered something about weddings in particular.  I started taking pictures in a way that was expected (the norm).  Why be normal?  Unique is really the way to go!  I want to wow someone when they see my photos.  Not go "well there's another pic of a bridal bouquet."  I want a "OMG, that wedding bouquet is sitting on a Harley and wow is that so urban and spectacular."  Well, you get the idea, lol! After viewing all my images, which I think are somewhat decent for my first time, I realized that I didn't stay true to who I am. I am a very quirky, unique, funny person but I don't feel these photos represent that.  Could have been first time jitters, who knows!  It was truly a learning experence and I will push myself harder next time to create art that really represents me!  I am suddenly faced with amazing opportunities because of this one wedding and I am so grateful and excited about the adventures to come!  Here are a few photos from Brian & Anne's wedding and again....a shoutout to Moondance Photography!!!  Thanks girl!! :)

The Littlest Hero's Project

Yesterday I applied to be a part of an amazing project created by an equally amazing girl, Felicia Reinhard!  She is an amazing 18 yr old girl who has started The Littlest Hero's Project.  This is copied directly from her site and tells what The Littlest Hero's Project is all about.

"Our mission at The Littlest Heroes Project is to help provide and capture memories for families who are dealing with hectic schedules due to having a child who is suffering from a serious illness or life altering disability. We understand that in the midst of being thrown a diagnosis and having to switch from a “normal” life to a life that is totally different, and often scary, things like getting photos taken is sometimes a huge challenge and is one of the last things families are thinking about. But when everything is done, and either the child has reached the end of their battle, or has proven the odds against it many wish they had more time to stop, and capture the journey that they lived through for so long. Through Littlest Heroes our photographers understand each and every case, and cater it to fit and honor each child and family. Our photographers are on hand to travel to homes, hospitals, clinics, fundraisers, and benefits to help capture your child’s journey in a “Day in the life” sort of style and work personally one on one with your child and entire family to get those special family photos and moments that you can cherish for years to come."  The best part is....All services are donated!!!

Eligibility for services
"Any child or young person (Infant-21) that is currently fighting or has fought or suffers from any of the following: Autism, Alopecia, AIDS, Bell's Palsy, Cancer,Chiari Malformation,Cystic Fibrosis, Cerebral Palsy, CHD,Childhood Stroke, Servere Diabetes, Down Syndrome, HIV,Immune System disorders and diseases, Kidney Disease, Muscular Dystrophy, Neurocutaneous Syndromes, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Shaken Baby Syndrome, Sickle Cell Anemia, Spina Bifida, Tay-Sachs Disease, and other serious childhood illnesses and life altering disabilites."

I am so honored to be able to join so many amazing photographers on this project!  Thank you so much Felicia for allowing me to be part of your organization!

Please check out her website, read her story and the stories of all these brave little warriors battling these diseases and still smiling and seeing the beauty in the world that surrounds them!  http://www.littlestheroesproject.org/

If you know of any deserving families, please send them my way or send them to The Littlest Hero's Project website! And with that here are some recent pictures of my little beauty!
