St. Charles/St. Louis Wedding Photographer~Weight Loss & Weddings, in this case one has nothing to do with the other!~

Okay so It's Monday after the new year. The hubs & I have decided that we want to be able to watch our daughter grow up, be at her wedding, hold our grand babies you know...live! So it's time. We've been putting it off long enough. We need to eat healthier and yes....actually go to the gym. So today we are getting all the unhealthy food out of our house because you see my problem isn't how much I eat. It's the junk I eat. I have a wicked sweet tooth. It's going to be my downfall unless I change. Diabetes is very prominent in my family and I don't want to end up being diagnosed so here it is. My goal is to be 120 to 125 lbs. I am {oh yes, I am going to be brave and share!} 151 lbs right now. So, I need to lose 26 to 31 lbs to be at my goal weight...by April. In April I have scheduled my families photo session! I had to schedule something to have as an incentive and we need newer family photos so there it is! Before picture of the both of us will be at the bottom of the post. After picture will be the professional ones we have taken!:)
If you have any advice, healthy recipes, words of encouragement, it would be greatly appreciated! I will be updating every two weeks and I would love to have some support!

On a more professional note.
A ton of wedding inquiries have been coming in. I am so excited by this! I love photography but I never intended on being a wedding photographer. Until I helped a good friend out very last minute{like the day of} last minute. And something happened. I fell in love. With wedding photography. I was so surprised by this but there I was photographing this ceremony and tears were running down my face. Partly because of the joy I was witnessing and partly because I had unexpectedly found something I loved doing. :) So I have a new website that is dedicated solely to weddings. It is a work in progress and I have a ton of images I haven't even added to the site yet. Most of the stuff on there is my earlier work but I will be updating very soon! I am so excited at the direction that my photography is leading me and I can't wait to shoot my first weddings this year as a primary!

So...on to the photo!
Attempting to hide the belly by holding the daughter=fail!!!

You can do it Jennifer!!! You should get on sparkpeople.com & sign up-- its free. It will inspire you to lose weight & eat healthy. Make hitting the gym as part of your daily routine as brushing your teeth! I wish we lived closer so we could become workout buddies. Also, I'm so lucky to have found you that crazy morning! You saved my butt & created a less stressful day for me. I can never thank you enough & I'm so happy it was from that wedding that you decided you could take that big step & do weddings! I believe people are meant to meet for certain reasons & we were meant to be friends :) Good luck & here's to a new healthier you!! :)

Good luck, Jen!
I don't have a sweet tooth... my problem is portion size! I've been trying hard (and failing) over the holiday season, but my goal is similar to yours... to be a more comfortable size by the time my wedding (that YOU are photographing!!!!) comes in April. My best advice is to not completely starve yourself of the things you love, but to control how much and how often... along with exercise and lots of other healthy stuff :) Here's to a healthier 2011!
